And investment piece
I was looking for a new snowboarding jacket that was Goretex, had enough back coverage to keep the snow out, and didn't look like I was wearing a sack (something with a little shape to it).
Spyder's reputation preceded itself (a number of friends are converts) - but it was the extra length of the Voice jacket, together with checking the Goretex box, the not too bulky/boxy box, and then throw in a healthy dose of "ddddddddddarn that's a good looking jacket" and I was sold.
I tested the jacket out over the Thanksgiving break - finding how too few layers I needed to be wearing underneath it - and I was sold! Looking forward to putting it through its paces this winter and for heli-skiing next year.
