Spyder Quality
Love the color, much nicer in real life than the in the pictures, Love the fit: fitted but roomy and stretchy, Love the material. Only downside is the pockets. When I am skiing, I store everything in my pockets (keys, money, gloves, gaiter, googles, etc) and the redesign of the pockets makes no sense. The large hand pockets are awkward if unzipped all the way and too small to be used as a hand warmer, unless I just unzip them partway and use them like a slash pocket, The two smaller pockets - one high on the chest is only good for your RFID card and nothing else, and the "map" pocket on the upper bicep is hard to get in and too small to store anything significant. I do like that there are 2 inner mesh pockets and an inner zip pocket. But even this inner zip pocket is on the right side of the jacket, so you have to use your left hand to reach it and it overlaps with the smaller outside chest pocket, thereby making the right side of the jacket bulky in the chest region. [ I own a really old Spyder jacket and the great thing about it, is all the pockets, on both sides of the jacket: 4 chest pockets (2 inside, 2outside), 2 hand pockets, 1 sleeve pocket, 1 mesh pocket. Oh and the pit zips on the old jacket go from bicep to halfway down the side. Love it! That's why I still have it, even tho the hem is fraying ] My mom likes this new jacket, so I may purchase a different style and give her this one. I would've given it 5 stars, except for the pocket configuration. …
