Spyder photoshoot collides with ‘Big Wednesday’ storm at Alta Ski AreaApril 2015
This past week we executed our Men’s Fall'15 Photoshoot at Alta Ski Area with Spyder athletes Steven Nyman, TJ Lanning, Jared Goldberg, and Julian Carr. We were very fortunate with the weather, as Little Cottonwood Canyon received 44’' inches of fresh snow on Tuesday night. With the World Cup season now concluded, it proved to be a special time over in Utah with our US Ski Team, as well as freestyle skiers.
Outside of the deep turns on ‘Big Wednesday’ we also captured urban lifestyle pictures in Salt Lake City, and mountain lifestyle pictures in the Wasatch National Forest.

James Hinchcliffe wins Grand Prix New Orleans!April 2015
James Hinchcliffe is back on the podium after winning the Grand Prix of New Orleans.
The race proved to be a huge win for James, Schmidt-Peterson Motorsports, and Arrow Electronics, as well as jump start the young racing season.
The timing could not have been better for Spyder, with our first ever commercial spots airing on Friday and Sunday on NBC Sports. View Spyder's commercial.
James battled through dangerous conditions in Louisiana, driving through a rain-soaked track with numerous caution flags, stating "Visibility was shocking, and there were some pretty big puddles on the track..”.
After nearly running out of gas before the finish, Hinchcliffe was able to hold off iconic IndyCar driver, Helio Castroneves, to take his first checked flag since 2013 in Iowa.
Julia Mancuso to Represent Spyder as Female AmbassadorApril 2015
Spyder is pleased to announce that Julia Mancuso has renewed her contract with Spyder and will be the face of its women’s collection going forward.
Mancuso, the Olympic Gold Medalist and most decorated female alpinist in the history of the United States, is affectionately known as “Super Jules,” by her U.S. Ski Team teammates and fans. She is known for sporting a tiara when she skis, and has been memorably quoted as saying, “you can be feminine and fast,” a sentiment that aligns perfectly with Spyder’s athletic, yet sexy Femme Fatale clothing line. The Fall 2016 and Spring 2016 lines will focus on fashion-forward, fitness-conscious, high-performance clothing for all seasons.
Julia lives an active lifestyle year-round. She spends much of her time in Maui, where she resides at her permanent home. She loves to dive and surf, as much as she loves to race and ski powder. Julia notes, “Life isn’t about pushing your limits, it’s realizing there are no limits.” In a new campaign focused on ‘Life Limitless’, Mancuso will be featured in advertisements throughout 2015.
Andrew Palmer Wins 12-hours of SebringMarch 2015
Spyder athlete Andrew Palmer made history over the weekend, completing the first back-to-back victory for any 20-year old driver within the Daytona Prototype Class — after winning the 12-hours of Sebring at Sebring International Raceway on Sunday.
His Cuttwood/Mathiasen PR1 racing team now has the overall lead in the Patron North American Endurance Cup, see full standings here. Also there are more pictures from victory lane here
Moving forward, Andrew’s next race is in Monza, Italy on April 11th-12th for the opening round of the Blancpain Endurance Series; where he will debut the new Lamborghini Huracan GT3.
This proves to not only be the debut of the new race car but also the first ever factory race team assembled by Lamborghini — with Andrew serving as the only American driver.

Spyder & Schmidt-Peterson Motorsports prepare for 2015 IndyCar seasonMarch 2015
The 2015 IndyCar season will officially kickoff on March 29th at the Streets of St. Petersburg race in St. Petersburg, Florida, along with the new partnership between Spyder, Schmidt-Peterson Motorsports, James Hinchcliffe, and Arrow Electronics. Spyder will also be serving as the officially apparel sponsor for the team, with potential activations at the Streets of Long Beach, Streets of Toronto, and/or Indianapolis 500 races.

Spyder Names Patrick Dempsey as Brand AmbassadorMarch 2015
Starting in Spring 2015, Spyder is pleased to announce that Patrick Dempsey will be the new face of Spyder. The Spring line specifically is autosport inspired, and with his car racing accomplishments, Dempsey is an ideal fit.
Racing has always been his true passion, and with that, Dempsey maintains sports car and vintage car collections. He has competed in prestigious pro--am events such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Rolex 24 at Daytona, and Tecate SCORE Baja 100 off--road race. Dempsey is best known for his television role as neurosurgeon Dr. Derek Shepherd (also known as “McDreamy”) on the ABC medical drama Grey’s Anatomy. On the big screen, his many films include Enchanted, Can’t Buy Me Love, Made of Honor, and Transformers: Dark of the Moon. He grew up skiing the East Coast, racing in Lewiston, Maine.
Dempsey will represent the brand throughout the year. He will also partner with Spyder athlete and IndyCar driver, James Hinchcliffe, to serve as the canvas to the auto--racing inspired GT line.

World Championships '15February 2015
For the first time since 1999, the World Championships were back in the United States, for two action packed weeks of racing, music, and abundant sunshine. We saw a gold medal won by American's Ted Ligety and Mikaela Shiffrin, as well as a silver medal awarded to Travis Ganong in the Downhill, and bronze medal to Lindsey Vonn in the Super-G and Ted Ligety in the Combined. In terms of Spyder athletes, we saw an inspired Downhill by Steven Nyman, who finished in 4th place, just one shy of the bronze medal. See full Men’s Downhill results here
After finishing in the top-20 in the Downhill &Combined, Julia Mancuso saw her best results in the Super G, finishing 9th. See full Women’s Super G results here
Jared Goldberg, the youngest member of the Spyder athlete and US Ski Team(s) showed promise after being a last minute addition to the roster following a gruesome injury to Bode Miller. See Bode’s crash here
After placing 20th in the downhill, Goldberg finished 3rd in the 1st/Downhill portion of the Combined, before skiing out of the slalom in the afternoon.
A speed specialist, the 23-year old Goldberg also recorded the fastest time in the lower portion of the downhill, leaving quite the impression on coaches and fans. See full Combined results here

The World Championships proved to be an incredible two weeks for the US Ski Team, their fans, and the sport in general; which flooded the stands each day in Vail-Beaver Creek.The attendance proved to be record breaking for any recent domestic ski race, with the 10,000+ grand stands seats being filled to capacity hours before each race.
SIA Lot Party 2015January 2015
SIA'15 proved to be a very exciting weekend for Spyder, as we unveiled the new trade-show booth, as well as hosted our annual 'Lot Party' across the street from the Colorado Convention Center.
Our new booth proved to turn heads at the show, introducing a new space for Spyder employees,retailers, and fans to socialize, work, and engage with our brand. See candid booth imagery here
When walking the venue, it could be quickly observed how unique Spyder's new booth was compared to other action sports companies; resembling a global activation space compared to the common slat wall display of product.
Our annual 'Lot Party' proved to be our most successful one to date, with Spyder partnering with HEAD Skis, Audi-Boulder, Carlsberg, Blue Ice Vodka, Rhino Racks, and 3M Thinsulate. With over 1,600 attendees throughout the night, Spyder also welcomed athletes Sierra Quitiquit, Chris Davenport, Julian Carr, Jess McMillan, and Julia Mancuso to the party. See full image deck here
