This past weekend marked the annual GoPro Mountain Games in Vail, Colorado, an event that puts many of today’s elite outdoor athletes in Colorado. Stretching over 4-days, it showcases intense competition in cycling, running, paddle boarding, kayaking, and rock climbing. Spyder alpine-athletes Steven Nyman and Julian Carr competed in two separate disciplines, displaying their skills off the snow. American downhiller Steven Nyman had a strong showing in the stand-up paddleboard race, finishing 10th overall. See full leaderboard.
A perennial favorite at the Birds of Prey, Nyman also found time to scout the course a few months early. Here's a shot from Nyman's instagram account.
Freestyle skier Julian Carr competed in the 10k Spring Runoff, finishing just outside the Top-25 in his division. Check him out mid-stride. An avid trail runner, Carr will also be spearheading the development of the Discrete ‘Peak Series’ trail running tour this summer, visiting several ski areas in the west. See full leaderboard.
