As a key member of the finance team your primary responsibility will be performing financial analysis and accounting for all aspects of Spyder's retail operations. Accounting responsibilities include preparing and entering journal entries, reconciling accounts, creating and maintaining appropriate controls over book, physical and perpetual inventories, and resolving reporting issues at the store locations. Analyst responsibilities involve working with other members of the retail team in understanding current sales, gross profit, operating expenses, and inventory trends, preparing analytical reports to improve retail operations, and preparing budgets and forecasts for retail.
This position will also include performing financial analysis and accounting for other areas of Spyder's worldwide operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
- 3 to 5 years current experience as a financial analyst.
- Experience with retail operations preferably with an apparel background.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Extensive use with Excel, JD Edwards.
Salary range $45,000-$50,000 plus competitive benefits.

To manage, inspire and lead the product process for Summyt Corp technical apparel from ideation through pre-production confirmation, in an atmosphere of professionalism, creativity and innovation. Specifically concentrating on managing expectations and the output of major stakeholders including other members of the Spyder product creation team and our manufacturing partners. Work closely with the GM resort/race to identify creative solutions that support Summyt Corp's business goals. Be a dynamic and creative member of the organization. Responsibilities
Actively manage all aspects of product creation for Spyder technical apparel. This includes the following elements:
- Consumer I.D.
- Line concept and line plan.

- Manage creation of product specification packages for prototypes.

- Manage product design and development resources .
- Direct communication of product expectations to source factories and Spyder liaison offices.

Consumer I.D
Know your consumer. Investigate, analyze, visit with and otherwise become intimate with all consumers who will drive product decisions. This includes working with relevant athletes who will be part of the Spyder stable of marketing assets, both contracted and grass roots athletes. Be where the consumers are, observe and then strategize on ways to most innovatively solve their problems or delight them with outstanding product experiences.
Line Concept and line plan
Collect information to determine the line concept (line plan):
- Evaluate world wide sales numbers; analyze which line segments have the strongest styles/silhouettes; evaluate the strength/weakness of colorways; compare world wide sales over the past 2-3 years to compile a Spyder sale history by style and line segment; determine each line's strengths/weaknesses in both domestic and international market.
- Market and industry trends: research and analyze where domestic and international consumer demand is heading; ensure that the Spyder line is addressing innovation/trends and stays a leader in technical functions; keep apprised of what and who is making news in the ski/outdoor industry; evaluate new product categories that Spyder might pursue and enter into.
- Solicit feedback for input on market position and line direction from distributors, reps, key dealers/buyers, and internally from Customer Service, Product Development, Sales/Marketing departments within Spyder.
- Keep Line Plan documents updated with accurate style numbers, product descriptions, target prices, sizes, and past season's comparable product information (style, price, units sold by world wide, North America, Europe).
Business Management
As an integral member of Summyt Corp you will be asked to be part of the strategic development of the business plan. This division has various business and sales opportunities open to it and will require an entrepreneurial spirit and know-how to take advantage of them. Flexibility and the ability to do many things at once is a major component to success in this environment as well as an independent mind and a strong work ethic. Design Management
Help to source designers as needed. Once a designer is determined for each line, the Director of Product will provide a design brief and contract. The brief should present the line concept, style features and target market/consumer. Work with the designer to achieve the designs and styles to meet the standards outlined in the brief. Evaluate designer's progress through a series of design reviews. Analyze the designer's submission on fabric, color palette in conjunction with feedback already compiled from Line Plan research.
Manage creation of product specification packages for prototypes
Responsible for ensuring that all product specification packages generated by your team meet expectations for completeness, accuracy and timeliness. Act as the interface for product data integrity between all functional groups within the Spyder organization. Drive necessary updates and changes throughout your team's area of responsibility.
Prototype and Sample Review
Responsible to have all development comments complete prior to review and to have all documentation and communication ready. Analyze margin expectations at the prototype stage and offer suggestions that will keep the design intent while working towards profitability goals. Management and maintenance of database of development comments. Travel to source factories to coordinate prototyping, sales sample or pre-production sample completion. Manage your resources to drive prototyping through commercialization and approve styles for production.
Manage Product Development Team
Responsible for creation and review of individual expectations for members of your team. Administer salary and performance reviews and take corrective action when needed. Actively recruit and hire for open positions within your team. Manage the T&E budget for your staff.
Sales preparation
Work with Summyt sales teams to assist in presentation prep for specific meetings. Attend and present at those meetings as necessary. Assist in set-up and break down of sales meetings as necessary. Attend trade shows as necessary to gain consumer and market insights.
Timeline management
Direct the process so that all work within the prescribed product creation timeline is completed on time. Work closely with resources throughout the organization and factory partners to assure adherence to all key milestones. Specifically responsible to deliver all styles for sales samples accurately, timely and in good quality. Responsible for assuring adherence to pre-production confirmation dates by the Product team.
Leadership

- Strong communication skills.
- Computer literate.
- Knowledge of the business processes that affect product including merchandising, sourcing and operations.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines and heavy work load.
